Brighter Lives in Norfolk Homepage
November will see the launch of Brighter Lives in Norfolk - This project aims to encourage and motivate people and partnerships from across Norfolk to work together to tackle local problems and make a difference in their community.
The Brighter Lives in Norfolk project will be launched on 2nd November 2009. The launch will coincide with a week of community action events involving Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Partner agencies, community groups and members of the public. It is planned that during the launch week there will be many events happening around the county, all of which will be branded and promoted under the Brighter Lives in Norfolk banner.
A launch event will be held to promote the Brighter Lives in Norfolk logo and new website.
The website will act as a promotional and networking tool. It will include:
- A Community Action Toolkit available to download, explaining how to organise any size activity within a community, translated into different languages
- Photo gallery - before and after pictures of past events to generate ideas/enthusiasm to others
- Feedback facility - to encourage people to publicise activities which have been held in their communities
- Calendar - showing up and coming events in all areas
- Signposting to other key sites, e.g. local councils, environmental health, support agencies
Following the week of events across the county in November, Brighter Lives in Norfolk will be used to 'banner' other events big or small that are aimed at making a positive difference to people's lives.
How can you get involved?
By looking at the Brighter Lives website (being launched 2nd November 2009) you will be able to see future events happening in your area on the community calendar, and browse a photo gallery to see pictures and read stories from other areas and get ideas for your own community.
The Community Action Toolkit can be downloaded to help you to organise any kind of event within your community. The website will also be able to direct you to many different sites, all available for you to use to assist with any issues you may have in your neighbourhood. Community events can range from a few hours were local residents can work together too week long multi agency events.
